Happy Birthday Automate and CSP! Two very successful Minitüb developments are seven years old. Automate, the boar dummy with an integrated mechanism for automatic semen collection, was invented by Dr. Christian Simmet, CEO of Minitube and developed to market maturity. Already 7 years ago the first boar studs were equipped with the system. Ever since then, Dr. Simmet´s invention is very popular all around the world, mainly due to the unique way of collection work, particularly in large boar studs in the U.S.. The system is patented in Europe and registered for patent in the United States.

Also 7 years ago a chemical substance which acts as a membrane-stabilizing additive for boar semen extenders was discovered by Prof. Weitze, University of Veterinary Medicine, Hannover. Under the term "CSP" (Cell Shield Plus) the substance became well known. Today it is part of the Minitüb semen extenders with "Plus" addition to the name: Androstar Plus and Androhep Plus.These extenders give a worldwide contribution to the quality of boar semen preservation. The additive provides unparalleled protection for sperm when exposed to temperature fluctuations. CSP actively plays a role in membrane stabilization and protects against premature sperm capacitation. Incidentally, the extenders Androhep and Androstar are also developments from the Institute of Prof. Weitze, which is very closely involved in the ongoing research process of Minitube.
