Cryogenetics, partner of Minitube for the development and sale of specialized products for the assisted reproduction of fish based on aqauaculture, announced recently, that they initiate the establishment of the World Fish Reproduction Center in Hamar, Norway.

Minitube provides all customers of Minitube International a new service of PORCINE EMBRYO TRANSFER SERVICE (PETS). For this purpose we count on the technical support of the University of Murcia in Spain and its highly specialised work team for PETS. Minitube organises this service in all countries by means of its worldwide network of branch and distribution offices. The porcine embryo transfer service is coordinated by Minitub Iberica, our branch office in Spain.

October 2012, on invitation of the MOA (Ministry of Agriculture of China) Minitube International has organized a two-day long seminar in the boar station Kexinyuan in Nanning, the capital of Guangxi Province, South China.

The seminar attracted the managers and technicians of many renowned boar husbandry companies primarily of south and middle China. The university and institute in Guangxi province sent their professors and students to attend it as well.

Last month Minitube International in cooperation with Astravet, their Russian distributor, organized a three day seminar specifically for CASA in Moscow, Russia.

Numerous Russian customers, mainly from the porcine sector but also from the bovine industry had the chance to enhance their know-how about CASA (Computer Assisted Sperm Analysis). Since the seminar existed of interactive workshops, presentations, discussions, demonstrations and practical work went hand in hand. The first two days of the event were focused on users who already know the system.

The Simmet Prize has now been awarded for the second time, after Cesare Galli in 2008. At the ICAR meeting in Vancouver, the 2012 recipient, Dr. R. John Aitken received the prize on July 30 during the first plenary session of the congress. The Simmet Prize is awarded by the International Congress of Animal Reproduction (ICAR) every four years and is endowed with 50.000 Euro. It is sponsored by Minitube International in honor of Dr. Ludwig Simmet, founder of Minitube. With this prize, active, research scientists are awarded for outstanding basic and applied research in the area of Assisted Reproduction of Animals.

First skill training course for the “Subsidy Project of Boar Breeding” was held at the Huazhong Agricultural University (华中农业大学) in the central China metropol of Wuhan in June 2012.
